My LDR girlfriend broke up with me and I feel miserable
Hello everyone,
To give a little bit of context, I (25M, French) was in a relationship with a Turkish girl. We met physically almost 2 years ago, started as friends but quickly realised that we were a great fit. So we got in a relationship a little bit more than 1,5 years ago. At the beginning we were in the same country, but had to come back to our own country (France and Turkey). We continued this relationship as LD and it was going pretty good (the communication was good and we had a good pace), saw each other 2 times last year (for more than a month). At that time she wanted to move to Europe for a master degree, on my side, I was looking for a job in France (for information, it's very hard for a Turkish citizen to get a schengen visa).
Fast forward to April, I started my new job in France (but full remote) and was putting a lot of pressure on myself, which led into me questioning the relationship even though I love her deeply, I was scared that we would broke our hearts more than anything because the pressure took a toll on me, she was on the same wavelength so we decided to "break up" but we continued talking and tried to find a solution for our future. But after I got stable with my work and the pressure went down, I realized that this wasn't how I wanted things to be, I wanted to be with her and continue the relationship whatever the cost. After all, she's the person I want to spend my life with.
After few months of talking, she told me that it was a lot of pressure on her to try to find a solution, she felt like she was not respecting me because one day she wants to move to Europe and the next day she wants to stay in Turkey. She told me that this situation doesn't make her happy as the future was blurry, she wants to see me more and right now, she can't. She lost hope for our future somehow. On my side, I was willing to fight, to try to come as much as I can to Turkey with my vacation days to be with her.
But, two days ago, she told me that she wanted to cut contact, it was a very hard decision for her but this situation made her miserable, she didn't know if it was the right choice, but at that time she felt like it was. She still loves me a lot and told me that she hopes that things can change and that a miracle can happen for us to be together again. I told her that if she wanted to reach out because she thinks this is not the right decision, she could. On my side, I a at the bottom of the bottom, I feel horrible and completely lost, I miss her like crazy. I feel like I'm letting a part of myself go. I have never loved anyone how I love her, the relationship was the best I could have ever imagined with mutual respect and a perfect match. So it will be very hard to let go and I think i'll alway hold her dearly in my heart whatever the outcome. I feel a lot of regrets too.
For the record, this is not my first relationship nor my first breakup (obviously haha), but this one feels particularly painful and hard to deal with, because she's the one I want to spend my life with.
Since it's fresh, I'm still hanging on the thread of hope, even though I know it's not good.
Thank you for your time and have a great day!
