I developed a gambling addiction and it changed me

Other

Since January I've been playing around with gambling, specifically blackjack and high leverage trading of commodities. At first it wasn't much but things started to get worse with each month. I hit it big in April and promised to quit but I couldn't. Ever since May I've been losing money. 14k USD to be precise. Before this year, I had been very frugal, keeping track of every dime I spent. At 24 years old I managed to save around 40.6k. Hell, at the beginning of May I had 58k, after a very lucky blackjack spree.

I'm changed now. I don't have the confidence or strength I used to have. I feel like I'm in a hole, even after getting psychological help and giving control of what I have left to my parents. I just fear not being able to recover financially. Is 26k enough at my age? What can I do to stop thinking about the losses? The time lost, the opportunities missed. I feel like such a fuck up right now.

Thank you for reading, I hope you can give me your advice.
