R304 shorty

I recently bought the r304 shorty but felt that it did not actually increase the sound over stock silencer. I know that it wont sound as great without a pc exhaust but it felt underwhelming. My stock silencer soundeed a tiny bit quieter and its not that it need repacking as a few of my friends which rides alot of 2 stroke said it sounded quite for a 250. Is it the stock header that mutes the sound alot or are the new r304 shorty quieter than the old ones
