ADHD correlation to learning

I've always noticed that people say "I've seen my parents do this certain thing growing up so I just learned by watching them." And everytime im like what?! Number one, how do you even remember watching your parents do a specific task as a child and two, how could you learn by just watching? I personally can't say there's a single thing I've learned by watching my parents growing up and I was wondering if that could be related to my ADHD? Do most people with ADHD also relate to that?
