Selling on EBay

I’ve been selling things through eBay for a long time now. I’ve recently gotten back into the sports card hobby and am starting to post some that I do not want. I recently posted a few that could fetch 500+ each.

I’ve been starting to get messages from several people asking if I’d be willing to sell the cards outside of eBay. As much as I’d love to avoid the fees, isn’t it technically safer for everyone by going through eBay?

Has anyone had this happen? I’ve never traded cards or anything. I’m wondering if the potential risks are worth it and if anyone could share their experiences.
