A guy asked me to give him some time. Is it over? How I should react?

Hi everyone. A guy I’m talking to was not responding for a few days. When I texted him a few days later asking if he is okay he sent me a text saying to give him some time and promised to come back. Now it’s been a few days of silence. Is he coming back?

Should I reply if he comes back? How should I react? Be distant or act as if nothing happened ?
