How has you and your social life changed since the pandemic?
Im just curious to hear about other people's experiences with their social lives or their social selves changing since the pandemic.
For myself personally I used to be very outgoing and I worked in retail until late 2020. In the years prior, working in retail was a great source for my social side because of the guaranteed turn over. I got lots of chances to meet and make friends with people. These weren't like ride-or-die friendships. Often it was a lot of meme sending and meeting up for drinks. Just casual friendships.
Lockdown caused me to shut down and focus only on a select few people (mainly family and a few close friends) . I remember thinking to myself about my wider social circle "See you on the other side - if we make it!" I didn't think it would last more then a few months.
I ended up transitioning out of retail to corporate and it's been a big change. Its taken me a few years to adjust to working with the same team 40 hours a week with the same 5 people.
Somewhere along the way I became shy and I don't honestly even know when. Pre-pandemic I was meeting up with friends, acquaintances or colleagues on a regular basis to go do activities. Now this year alone I have done like 3 social things.
Anyways, just curious to hear how things changed for you.
