Pc upgrade

I have a AMD Fx(tm)-6300 six-core processor and a GTX 1070. I was thinking of replacing the cpu with a Ryzen 5 9600 would that fit well with my 1070? I play games like valorant and it gets very choppy if I play and use discord. Any suggestions for upgrades/replacements would help don’t wanna spend to much maybe 3-400 I also have 16g ram.
