dishwasher wiring
I am replacing an old, hardwired dishwasher and found things just like this when I pulled it out. No plate on the box. The yellow wire directly wired to the old unit from this junction. It is on a dedicated breaker (not a GFCI breaker).
The new dishwasher is a Bosch that is normally plugged into an outlet in an adjacent cabinet. I think the best design would be to somehow run the power to the adjacent cabinet to mount a new metal box and GFCI outlet there, and then plug it in. Is it ok to run power in some sort of conduit from this old box to the next cabinet? Is there a better solution?
