Brother is a serious alcoholic and mum wants to take him umrah

Salaam brothers and sisters, my brother is a serious alcoholic and my mum thinks taking him umrah will magically fix him. I don’t want to discourage anyone from going to a holy pilgrimage but given his short temper and alcoholism I’m advising my mum not to take this step but I’m not sure if I’m advising the right thing. What is your opinion on this?
