Plastic in Cat Food 🙀
Hi, I’m just after some advice/outside perspective please. I ordered some new food for my little ones to try and basically, as the title says, I found small bits of plastic embedded in some of the chunks of meat.
I sadly only spotted this after one of them had eaten some of the food and I am naturally panicking whether they’ve eaten any of the plastic. Little one thankfully seems ok, but I am keeping a close eye.
I contacted the company expecting them to be at least apologetic- but I had to chase for a reply and they’ve just come back with a really blasé response and said if I don’t want the rest of the food (I don’t!), I’ll need to pay for return shipping (tracked) before they’ll refund me. I’ve sent them images as evidence, and they’ve admitted the plastic will have been from the packaging from their ingredients, but hey, it happens and it’s blue so it can be easily spotted(!).
Is this a normal response to get from a cat food company? I’ve never had to report an issue like this before. I’m wondering if this happens more often than expected, hence the casual response, and I should just accept it as a loss?
