Hit a wall that's made me put the game down for a month

What's weird is I'm sure I've attempted other bosses more times but Veronique has been handing me a special type of ass whooping that's made me afraid to boot up the game again. Up to now I've been fine at problem solving any challenges in the game but nothing I've tried with her so far has helped much. Any tips?
