Windows Laptop for general home use. $750-$1000 budget. USA. Need recommendations

Budget: $750-$1000 (USA)

Refurbished: No

Priorities: Build Quality and Performance are most important to me. Battery life is second most important.

Screen Size: 14"-15"

Programs: Most of the time, I'll be be doing simple stuff (browsing the internet, checking e-mails, youtube, zoom meetings, etc). I do have a passing interest in more advanced stuff (PC Gaming, CAD, Music/Video software/etc), but it's not the top priority.

Gaming: Will most likely not be gaming. But if I did, I like retro stuff (emulators/roms).

Specific requirements: A decent built-in webcam and microphone would be nice (for zoom meetings). I don't need a touch-screen.

Finishing Thoughts: I prefer Windows. I'm in the USA. Basically just looking for a simple computer that does the simple everyday stuff, that is good quality, and won't give me too many problems. Small possibility of gaming/advanced software.
