silksong will not be released at gamescom. best case scenario we get a release date for late 2026, worst case it's demo breadcrumbs for us fans so we don't starve

any community engagement or marketing manager understands that silksong has one of the biggest, most dedicated (and most intense) audiences of any game to be released this century. if silksong were really ready to be released, the marketing and promos for it would begin well over a year in advance in order to build up hype. it would be insane to suddenly drop the complete game on steam without any buildup.

i'm still optimistic enough to hope that gamescom will be the first bit of advertising for a release date late next year. but worst case scenario the demo is just intended to tide us over and to keep the community engaged and excited while the game is still in development.
