POP instead of power on
Turned the PC off last night, went to turn it on this morning, and as soon as I touched the metal, heard a distinctly loud ‘pop.’ Now pressing the power button doesn’t do anything & I noticed that the Ethernet port LEDs are off - so I’m thinking the PSU got popped.
Anything I can do to confirm my suspicions? Any tips to avoid this in the future? (I shouldn’t have to ground myself every time I want to turn on the PC, I think I just need a non-metal case…)
When building this, I wanted the 1kW SFF Corsair PSU, but couldn’t find one at a decent price. Would higher wattage have better decoupling capacitors/ESD handling? It’s my first SFF build so any input is welcome.
