Our 2 year old kid is the only kid in a crowd of kids that hates being around others and constantly clings to us… could we do anything differently to help?

To be fair most are closer to 3 and up but some are 1-2 as well. I wonder if it’s because we didn’t start him in daycare early enough? He struggled bad with that transition too. We started at 2.

He does well in small groups and I get being overwhelmed in larger group settings. So I’m not saying my kid is wrong for this. But we also have a 2 month old so if we can do anything different to help her adjust to these inevitable social situations better we want to. Maybe put her in daycare starting at 1 instead of 2?
