buying a bmw as your first car AS A INTERNATIONAL STUDENT in the usa, BAD IDEA ?

hey folks, i can already hear those comments of NO DONT BUY IT ITS GONA DRAIN your wallet, i totally understand that but like I've been searching and reading a lot of replies in reddits posts and i didn't see any actual details about the expenses or specific problems a BMW owner can encounter. i'm not really good with cars but I've been a huge fan of BMW since a really long time and i planned to get the 2016/2017 320i as my first car for 6k or more once i move here. Maybe a really clean one will be around 11k ? i don't know. So please i would love to know what can i exactly go through and how frequent i can face problems and what are the major ones and THANK you :)
