Residual Energy, Given Personality, attached spirit

I’m curious about the individuals that care take haunted dolls. Are the spirits of past owners attached?
Did someone love and imbue a story and personality for these beings? Do you believe your doll is the combination of all energy from past events that surrounded them? Were they born on creation or did some spirit of the land see a beautiful vessel to interact and take root in their fibers?
