I’ve been agonising over a layout for a kitchen remodel and I can’t seem to get it quite right. First picture is the floor plan and second is an example layout (one of the simpler ones). I’m hoping someone might have thoughts of a layout I hadn’t considered. I keep going back to a corner kitchen with an island with various placements of tall units, hob, and sink + dishwasher.

The bit where it says “possibly demolish?” is a section where stud walls have been made to “hug” the current kitchen which I believe can be removed. I also think the pocket for the pocket door is much longer than the actual door (especially since the pocket is smaller on the other side) so can be shortened to accommodate a slightly larger kitchen, although by probably a maximum of about 40cm.

Please note this is an EU kitchen so all appliances will be integrated and will go in units 60cm wide. I’d like my hob to be 80cm wide and my sink 70cm wide to fit an 80+cm unit. a dedicated space for a built in or standalone coffee machine is preferable. I also like having a 1.2m clear counter space for prep, preferably next to the hob.

The current kitchen is made up of a 3M wide section with tall units on the right wall and one 2.8m long island/peninsula situation coming from the top wall with hob against the wall side and dishwasher on the dining side. I hate it, it’s impractical, and the island is too close to the tall units (1m). It’s also annoying to bring the food shopping in from the utility door since you have to walk all around the peninsula into the top right corner as that’s where the fridge is.
