Whats even the point of mosquitos?

Do they provide sustenance to the ecosystem in my back yard or should I just obliterate them?

I have lots of trees on my property and so there are lots of birds, lizards, and other critters. I don't want to hurt everything else but GOTDAM I dont think I've even been got by mosquitos so badly!
