Do you like the smell of lilies?

I'm curious to know if some people have an aversion to lilies more than others. I brought home a bouquet of starlight lilies the other day but soon after my partner started complaining about a headache and that something smelled like hot garbage and diapers. I know lilies can have a strong smell and can understand the headache but hot garbage? They smell nice to me. Anyone else smell hot garbage? Is this like the cilantro soap gene?
