Audio glitching when downloading or opening applications

Just installed Linux mint and since installing I've been having this issue where I'll be in a call or listening to music then install something or open something, it could be anything, a game or some software, and all the audio that is playing currently be it someone talking or music will go all buzzy and glitchy. I see other people have had issues with speakers and a persistent crackle, this isn't that it's only when opening something or install something
