My cat is still meowing with an automatic feeder

We bought and automatic feeder to help with our cat letting us sleep through the night and morning feeds so she wasnt waking us up if we were sleeping in. Her food and water dish are in a common area where we pass by constantly.

Prior to the feeder she would get her entire portion for the day in the morning. We saw out vet and she wanted us to help her lose 2lbs. We started her on 6 feeds and then over 2 months moved her to 5 then 4. Her timing is now 530am, 10am, 500pm, 10pm.

however the issue is that when I am working from home. She is meowing and becoming a terror about an hour before she is scheduled to get her food. Which is annoying because I am not able to do my work without being interrupted.

We are trying not to respond to her when she is meowing but if we are giving her a wet food treat she is meowing at us while waiting at the bowl. Her dry treats we give in another area.

I do try to play with her before her feeding session at 10am and 10pm since I get home late from work sometimes.

My only solutions at this point are

1. Move her feeding station in a less travelled area

2. change the feeding times to earlier (but fear this will still create her being a terror an hour before her feed once she is used to it)

3. Give her a large portion once a day.
