🚨🇪🇺📜 EU MEDIA FREEDOM ACT TAKES FULL EFFECT
Narrative A: The Media Freedom Act is a historic achievement that will finally give journalists and media outlets the protection they desperately need. With unprecedented safeguards against spyware, stronger editorial independence and transparency requirements, this law creates a vital shield for democracy across Europe, while holding those who infringe upon media freedoms to account.
Narrative B: Despite grand promises, the Media Freedom Act faces challenges that could render it meaningless. Many member states are dragging their feet on necessary legislative changes, while some politicians believe they can bypass traditional media altogether through social networks. Without genuine will and aggressive enforcement, the law risks failing to protect journalists when they need it most.
