Do your Research Before Purchasing
So as the title explains, please everyone do your research before signing anything no matter what. Me and my girl own a 2024 touring Solterra brand new off the lot, got it last year in august and barely just putting in 15k miles on it and so far we are both heavily disappointed in the car, we just recently took the thing on a roadtrip to Vegas from Fremont, Cali and lets just say it was a disaster. Car took us to the destination and back just fine but the amount of times we had to pull over and charge was just unbearable, the drive should have been only 8 hours took us 11 now don’t get me wrong maybe with better planning (since it was last minute for a wedding) it could’ve been better but I honestly doubt it. With the charging at fast chargers taking 40-50 mins to charge from 20-80 percent and only last at most 150 miles (gf has a heavy foot as well) taking my car would have been better. The only real reason we got this car was just because it was electric my gf fell in love with how it looks, the 7,500 dollar tax credit, 10k rebate, and lastly 0% apr everything to good to be true just for the tax credit not to fall through later on cause its not U.S. made. Before the Solterra we had a 2024 Crosstrek brand new off the lot as well before we traded it in 6 months later for the Solterra and now she wants to go back to it but the new 2026 one that hasn’t come out yet. Overall just please do your research on any car you plan on getting no matter how nice it looks or how good the deals are, sometimes they’re there so the dealer can get rid if the car after staying on the lot for so long, and if you do plan on getting a Solterra, from a certified owner of one just new its nice, it’s spacious and really comfortable, no lie it has the concept to be a good convenient car if it just weren’t for the range. 220 sounds like a lot but also factor in how heavy you are on the pedal and how fast you like to drive, maybe for others its the right car but for us it was a let down.
