Help with routing outbound audio to virtual audio cable in ASIO

Hello,

I'm running Reaper 7.42 on a Windows 11 machine using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Reaper is in ASIO mode, using the Focusrite USB ASIO driver and an XLR microphone. My interface is set to 44100 and a block size of 64.

My desired use case is to take microphone input in a live setting, process the audio, and then feed the processed audio out to Discord where it will be used for our tabletop RPG sessions. I'm working with live audio, not recordings.

I thought I'd found a solution of a virtual audio cable, setting the VAC "input" as the output in Reaper, and then set the VAC "output" as input in Discord, but the VAC is not a valid output in the drop-down when Reaper is in ASIO mode.

Am I going about this the wrong way, or is what I want even possible?
