Starter decks - winning with Luke

Hello there, I recently picked the first starter kit - Luke vs. Vader and played couple of games with a colleague.

For some reason, I can't get a win with the Luke deck. Vader always steamrolls the deck, especially if he can equip the saber. I tried different approaches (considering I have experience from MTG) but I am always missing late game plays or Vader removal.

I have read everywhere that the decks are balanced. Anything I am missing? Any tips?
