Someone please explain why this is not a closed sketch?

I have tried over and over to just create a simple shape to extrude as a bridge but this will not close with the pre existing geometry. All of the points are snapped to the grid and pre existing sketchpoints (which took a painful amount of work for some reason) Please help. What am I doing wrong?
