Introducing Pullforge OS – A Browser-Based AI-Powered Operating System (Open for Contributors)
Hello everyone,
I am pleased to introduce Pullforge OS, an open-source initiative aimed at creating a fully functional, browser-based operating system interface enhanced with AI-driven capabilities for coding, file management, and productivity.
Overview
Pullforge OS replicates a familiar desktop experience entirely within the browser. It offers a Windows-like interface with draggable and resizable windows, an application launcher, a taskbar for managing open applications, and smooth, modern UI interactions.
Current Features
- Desktop Environment: Draggable/resizable windows, taskbar, and app launcher.
- Terminal Application: Fully functional terminal running client-side, capable of handling Node.js, npm, and git commands.
- Code Editor: Feature-rich editor with syntax highlighting, file navigation, and planned AI assistance for explanation, optimization, and code generation.
- AI Chat: Framework for multiple specialized AI agents, covering coding, design, writing, DevOps, and general assistance (integration in progress).
- File Explorer: File upload, download, rename, delete, search, and context menu support.

- Contextual search powered by vector embeddings.

Call for Contributors
This is currently a solo effort, and I have completed the initial groundwork. However, the scope of this project requires more hands and minds to bring the full vision to life. I am seeking contributors who are enthusiastic about browser-based development environments, AI integration, and reimagining how we work with code and files online.
