I don't like blurry gradients. Here's how to remove the new GPT-5 gradient
GPT 5 is here and with it, there goes your choice. If you don't like the new gradient and blurry background, here’s how to hide them.
Option 1: Use the console (quick)
- Open Chrome DevTools with F12 or Ctrl + Shift + I
- Go to the Console tab
- Paste this and press Enter:
// Hide the gradient overlay
document.querySelectorAll('div.absolute.inset-0.h-full.w-full.bg-gradient-to-b.from-transparent.to-white.dark\\:to-black')
.forEach(el => el.style.display = 'none');
// Hide the blurred background image
document.querySelectorAll('img.absolute.inset-0.h-full.w-full.scale-\\[1\\.02\\].object-cover.opacity-50.blur-2xl.dark\\:opacity-30')
.forEach(el => el.style.display = 'none');
Option 2: Add a bookmark (easiest)
- Create a new bookmark
- Name it something like "Hide Gradient"
- In the URL field, paste this:
javascript:(function(){
document.querySelectorAll('div.absolute.inset-0.h-full.w-full.bg-gradient-to-b.from-transparent.to-white.dark\\:to-black')
.forEach(el => el.style.display = 'none');
document.querySelectorAll('img.absolute.inset-0.h-full.w-full.scale-\\[1\\.02\\].object-cover.opacity-50.blur-2xl.dark\\:opacity-30')
.forEach(el => el.style.display = 'none');
})();
- Save it
- Click the bookmark and the background goes back to normal
- Act like GPT-4 is still there

Hope it helps.
