Did bronze players get better?

I hit gold back in 2022 then quit. Came back now 3 years later and Bronze players are one tapping like crazy. Pretty common to have a 40 kill Reyna running around. Did I miss something over the years lol. I felt like my skill level was appropriate for gold then, but I could literally knife bronze players while they whiffed back in the day, not any more.
