You have no power here

My sister works with autistic kids at an ABA clinic. Sometimes they can be a bit loud, especially when they are having a rough day. She works in a shared building, like a strip center, where there are multiple suites in a row. She has a big box retailer on one side and a travel agent on the other. One more space down from the travel agent is a grumpy excuse of a human who runs a trophy and collectible cards business. For some reason he really doesn't like these kids. He had never said anything, but he would go to great lengths to passive aggressively show his displeasure. He once collected all the leaves from the parking lot and piled them in front of the clinics door. I'm talking a 6 foot tall pile square in front of their door. He has also idled his obnoxiously loud truck right out front, revving it cause these kids to react. The final straw for me was when he poured water in front of their suite door on a freezing day so there would be a big sheet of ice.

I'm a techy. White hat hacker with a lot of cool toys. Did you know that these modern "smart" electric meters have an internal disconnect? Yep, your electric company doesn't have to physically come out and switch anything to turn your service on or off. They just send a command to the meter. The security on those meters is about like having your password be "password".

With a few spare parts I put together a little system that works off of a key fob, like your car. When I walked into his business for the first time to confront him over his actions he very quickly got angry and started cursing and yelling at me. Until I snapped my fingers and the power went out. It took him a few seconds to connect the dots but when I snapped my fingers again and the power turned back on I asked him if I had his attention. No? Snap how about now?

Yeah he hasn't done a damn thing to bother those kids again. Of course he huffed and puffed. Called the electric company and called the police. The electric company told him that was impossible and the police simply told him good luck and wrote him off as being paranoid and hallucinating.

Don't F with kids.
