Laughing Moon #114 vs. Black Snail #0421

I’m looking to make an 1845-50 day dress. I’m stuck between two designs: Laughing Moon #115 and Black Snail #0421. Has anyone made either of these before and can comment on the relative ease of understanding and construction? The simpler the better since I’m on a time crunch!

I know far more costume bloggers have made LM than BS, but I also heard the LM needs adjustment on the shoulders to be narrower. I’m not sure if the BS needs any common adjustments, but less people seem to have (blogged about) making it?

One important thing to note is that for my outer fabric I only have 5yd of 53/55” wide. This would work with the Black Snail pattern as it says 5yd. But If I were to make the LM, I would go with View B front but View A back, but still not sure if this is enough.
