I was told to come here so I apologize. I don't know where to go
Ok. This is complicated.
My family has a history of mental illness. My grandmother and mother were both committed in their lives.
I was raised basically by my grandparents because of my mother's illness. She was diagnosed manic depressive/bi polar with schizophrenic breaks.
That means she'd break into churches and tries to lite them on fire because the end was here and Jesus said so.
My grandmother had been instatualized when my mother was born. They gave her Scopolamine when she was giving birth and she had and averse reaction. The ended up giving shock treatments to try to fix it. It took her two years to remember anything or obtain information.
I say this because I do believe that they are relevant to show a history and proof by by being hereditary.
Years back when I was in Texas I let my mom live with me. She was off of her meds and attacked me. I pushed her out of the home with 3 witnesses. I was charged with elder abuse. It was dismissed when video and proof was shown. But it's there and it cost me almost 10k to defend. I was looking at over 10 years.
That is horrifying. I swore I'd never talk to my mother again. That lasted about 3 years. I took care of her until she passes. Hospital in my home. I sat with her for hours holding her hand. We made peace before that. I'm grateful for that time.
I don't know how much information is needed. So sorry.
Cut to later:
My grandmother has 3 girls. My mom was the only one who had children. Me and my sister.
I was raised by my grandparents. I had once child, my sibling had 2.
I lived 2500 miles away and when my grandparents became ill I came back to take care for them.
I did so for about 3 years before it was suggested I get power of attorney over them. This was after multiple hospital stays by a caseworker that was in our home. They were in their 90s, late 80s at this time.
They gave me power the sane time the made and signed knew wills. They wanted that no matter, who died the home they built and paid off would always be a safe haven for the family. That it was to go into a trust (me) that would never turn away anyone and that if it was sold, it would be split equal with all first, second and third descendants.
I worked 40 hours a week at the time because I wasn't going to live off them, while raising a child.
I would get up at 4am come down, make breakfast, do the dishes, start laundry, get my kid off, go to work. Come home, clean up from lunch. Go get medication or requests, make dinner, finish laundry, clean the house, help with homework, do dishes, get everyone to bed.
I would go to my room about 10:30, 11 o'clock at night. After years I was burning out.
At a home health check one nurse that had been there a few times with us said "I don't know why you don't file with the vf for this."
Never occurred to me so I did. They said I should have been being paid for taking care of them all the time. (Here is where guilt is, if I had not been stretched so thin, I could have been so much better for everyone). Not a crazy amount every month but enough so I could find a job with fewer hours and save.
I was so happy. For years every doctor/nurse/etc would say they didn't know how I was doing it, but I was doing a good job.
At one point the doctor said "you are going home with 2 people that have dementia. Are you sure you can handle it?" I told him I could.
I started getting money from the VA after 4 years in September.
That is when it started bad.
My grandmother was acting insane. Yelling and attacking naked. Came to find out that UTI in elderly woman are bad.
She attacked me one night and I pushed my hand to keep her at bay. She didn't fall. I didn't hurt her... she went outside with her walker and started down the street at 11pm. People picked her up and brought her home with the cop.
My child and grandfather said what what happened they saw her hit me and pull my son's hair. They asked if I wanted to press charges and I laughed and declined.
But here lies the problem...
My Aunt has always been in her head. She is and has never been close to anyone in the family but my my grandmother.
She forced me out. Said she would press charges no matter if my grandmother wanted me to stay.
When I was leaving. She had 3 groups of people come to watch us. They tried to get me to relinquish the power of attorney and I refused.
Pa called me to his chair and said, "they think I don't understand what's happening but I do. Pa loves you kids. Remember *******. His military number. I kissed him and left.
Had to go back for something. He was in the bathroom and I heard them telling him lies. I screamed the truth and left.
After that, no one was ever allowed to see them again. His great grandsons would stop after school and Aunt would say leave or she's calling the cops... to 12 year olds. That just wanted to see their pa. We have video. So ugly. Why can't we see pa... you need to leave.. why... it's illegal... how... do YOU KNOW THE LAW?!, I am calling now.
My mom was dying and begged. Nope.
They did let us talk on veterans day. My son called, no one else spoke. Pa started crying right away. He said "****** Pa is surrounded by these woman but I'd rather be with you kids. Pa loves you."
He sent us his code. We was aware and not out of it.
He died a month later.
The 6 of us were given 30 minutes while he was in a carbord box.
None of us have spoken to our grandmother in years. We repeatedly ask. Beg. 5 of us now.
Aunt will send pics of her now and then.
Just today I fought that there is a mortgage on my nanas home. With her and Aunts name.
It looks like there was a deed transfer after Pa's death to just nana. Another for some reason to just her. And a quick claim in 21. The mortgage is after the quick claim and it is Credit Line Revolving in 24.
I went and looked up my aunts home. She took out a lone 7 days after my grandfather died. She has so many back and forth Credit Line Revolving lones on her home. And that is what she put on my grandparents.
I want nothing. She took what I wanted. I promised my person I would be by his side until the end. He trusted me bathing him, even if it felt degrading. He trusted I would be there as he was for me. He died without anyone who really loved him. I can't get that back. But I don't want her to win.
She was never there. She was never part of the family. She looked down on all of us because she was better. She has no kids. She just took out a mortgage on her home that she's owned for 40 years for 788000.
This has always been about money. She was fine when I was working 90 hours a week to do what was need (which I begged for help from everyone). No... she comes when money and cuts everyone off.
Is it even worth fight for. To me... I just want to heat my nanas voice one time. To feel her stroke my hair... take it all.
I'm so mad. So hurt. Do we have a leg? Or should we bend over and except it?
