Will God be mad?

So I been stressed. Will God be mad if I still believed in him but explore life to get to understand it a bit more but I’m not following the rules of the bible. But then when I do finish exploring I come to him with a repentful heart fully?

Hope that makes sense. Like what if I strayed away to get to know it myself just to find God is the answer
