I Say No is Terrible, right?

As a former Heathers kid when the original Off Broadway Cast recording dropped, I never paid much attention to the West End Production.

With the recent resurgence of Heathers I went to check it out and discovered I Say No and wow… this song sucks.

Maybe it’s not awful in an objective sense, but in the context of the show it feels so out of place. You can absolutely tell it was added later as it doesn’t flow stylistically despite the parallels in the melody from Our Love is God.

Is it Carrie? Is it the cringy lyrics or the pop-vibes? I’m not sure but thanks I hate it.

Maybe someone can drop a cover they find redeeming or give their POV if they like this song because I’m having a visceral reaction.
