What’s the best way to prove technical skills when most of my experience is hobby work?”

I wanted to go into the robotics field via a technician role but the only suitable experience I had was working on cars as a hobby but I couldn't prove it. So I uploaded my photos to this site where I can share my pics using a link and I attached it to the application and boom. The interviews always took a turn talking about my projects so ik it helped show my competence in mechanical things and in programming.
