Need Real & Honest Talk on Ausbildung Life & finances!!

Hi my kind fellow Azubis,

I’m 18 and from Asia, planning to move to Germany for an Ausbildung (probably IT Specialist or Electronics or Mechatronics). I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos and read agency info, but I want to hear honest experiences from people actually living and working in Germany.

My big goal is to become a pilot, and I want to save at least 40,000€ within 2–4 years after Ausbildung then getting a job to fund my pilot training. So I’m trying to figure out if this plan is actually doable or just wishful thinking.

Here are some questions I’d really appreciate your insights on:

  1. Money — Does the Ausbildung salary realistically cover rent, food, insurance, and transport without needing a second job?

  2. Saving Potential — After Ausbildung or in early jobs, is it possible to save 1,000–1,500€ per month, or is the cost of living too high?

  3. Work & Training — Are companies genuinely training you, or is it mostly cheap labor? How many hours per week do you actually work?

  4. Language & Social Life — How much German do you need to manage work and everyday life? Are coworkers and locals generally accepting of foreigners?

  5. Acceptance Chances — As an Asian moving to Germany, how likely is it that companies will accept me for Ausbildung? Do they prefer locals or EU citizens?

  6. Treatment as a Foreigner — Is there discrimination or challenges being a foreigner during Ausbildung? Or are people generally respectful?

  7. Career After Ausbildung — How easy is it to find permanent, decent-paying jobs afterward? Do you usually stay with the same company or move on?

  8. Housing & Social Life — How hard is it to find affordable housing? Is social life manageable for foreigners, or is it isolating?

  9. Regrets or Warnings — If you could do it again, would you still choose Ausbildung? Any advice or things you wish you had known before starting?

I’m ready to work hard and adapt, but I want to be realistic about my chances and what life will actually be like in Germany. I don’t want to get stuck in a situation where I can’t save enough for my pilot dream or feel excluded as a foreigner.

Thanks a lot for your honest help in advance! Your real life opinions & thoughts would be respected.
