South Island Itinerary - 2 weeks Mid March - Advice/Suggestions Request
I put together a tentative two week itinerary, and would really appreciate any advice or suggestions. It will just be my partner and myself. We both enjoy outdoor activities and nature.
Day 1 - Arrive in Queenstown in AM. R&R + Queenstown Gondola + Luge + Dinner? Would it be worth eating dinner and catch the sunset up there?
Day 2 - Road Trip to Glenorchy. Jet Boat Tour into Mt Aspiring National Park.
Day 3 - Hike the Rob Roy Track
Day 4 - Skydive in the AM. Visit wineries in the afternoon in Central Otago (any recommendations?)
Day 5 - Leave Queenstown for Te Anau. Explore Te Anau and visit the glowworm cave
Day 6 - Kayak Milford Sound
Day 7+8 - Doubtful Sound overnight cruise
Is it worth it to do both, or should we just do the overnight cruise and skip the kayak?
Day 9 - Drive to Dunedin. Penguin Place and Royal Albatross center.
Day 10 - Leave Dunedin to Tekapo. Take the Dark Sky Project Summit Experience
Day 11 - Leave Tekapo for Christchurch. Explore Christchurch
Day 12 - Whale Watch Kaikoura
Day 13 - Hamner Springs Thermal Pools & Spa
Day 14 - Fly from Christchurch to Auckland. Explore Auckland
Day 15 - Fly home.
