Trying to hit some goals, and could use outside perspectives and advice.

Advice

Howdy all,

I’m a 41 year old male at 6 ft, weighing 225 lbs (102 kg). I’ve got a goal of weighing 205 lbs (93 kg), or a BMI between 25 - 30% by the end of the year.

I’m admittedly a novice when it comes to fitness, so I have been trying some basic bodyweight exercises and minding what I eat to hit my goals, but I don’t think I am doing all of the right things to get there.

I’ve recently been trying a goal of doing 10 burpees a day, each day, and increasing it by 10 more burpees each passing week. It has been new and engaging to do! But I think either my body is not used to the physicality, or the weight that I am carrying is causing pain to my lower back due to the exercise, so I am considering a different routine and returning to this burpee challenge once I am at a lower weight.

In the meantime, I’m looking for something to try, to click and stick with, as I would like to begin living and appearing as a more healthy person. Any suggestions or thoughts on how to approach this?

Thanks, y’all!
