Braxton Hicks ?

I am currently 31w5d (FTM) and have been feeling cramps that are similar to period cramps. I looked it up and Braxton Hicks comes up, but it says it feels like a tightening on your stomach. I just don’t feel that. I feel like how I did when I’d have my period cramps. Should I call my OB? Has anyone had Braxton Hicks that feel like period cramps, not your stomach tightening? TYIA
