AITA for taking matters into my own hands by exchanging bodies with a young guy? He's now occupying my old female body, but I think it's justified!

NSFWSwapped

Sooo this has been weighing on my mind a bit and I was looking for some fresh perspectives on the matter.

Though my name used to be Susan (51F), please refer to me as Dave from here on! It’s what I feel more comfortable with now.

So my entire life I’ve kind of been the butt of the joke. I was never the best looking, never the smartest, never the funniest… add in that I used to be somewhat overweight and a weird voice, it was a nasty concoction of mediocrity. With the years piling, my career and relationships going nowhere, I was finding myself in a pretty dark spot.

Now a friend of mine (can’t disclose who, sorry) caught on that I was frankly sliding mentally. She had a solution. A once in a lifetime chance. She had gotten her hands on some ‘magic artifact’ which made it possible for two souls to exchange physical forms. In laymans terms: swapping bodies. This could be like hitting the reset button and actually making something out of my life!

She made me promise that I’d only use it on somebody who was equally interested in swapping with me. Well… fat chance, honestly. Nobody would be interested in becoming me. Especially not the type of person I was interested in becoming… What young, good looking, privileged person would be crazy enough to take my place? I deserved to be all of that after 50 years of being withheld most of that.

So… I decided to walk around campus– scouting for who would be a good fit. So many gorgeous young people, all of them getting educated and preparing for their perfect lives. I wanted that opportunity too… but it couldn’t just be anybody. I couldn’t just take the place of some good and honest person.

After WEEKS of looking, I finally found somebody equally deserving of becoming me. Dave (23M). He was one of the cockiest people I’ve had the displeasure of seeing in action. He was a student athlete that had zero respect for people applying for the team. Too slow? Too fat? Too unmotivated? He rejected everybody shy of perfection. I noticed he even demanded his girlfriend to dress up to his whim. A person like that needed a new perspective…

I know he’s a guy, and that was the most awkward part about it really… but I wasn’t all that opposed to it after I gave it a few nights of thought. Being a man wasn’t really my true intention, but even I could see that there could be some benefits to it! Besides, how big can the difference really be? And I’ll be getting everything I was aiming for too: youth, beauty, opportunities.

And so I did it. After one of his practices when he was changing clothes in the locker room, I barged it and used the magic artifact. The look on his face when he realized what had happened… the feeling of being this fit, strong, athletic, energetic… I’ll never forget how INCREDIBLE that moment was.

Anyways, I sent him– HER on her way and began carving out my life as a student! Me, a student! Writing it out still feels crazy to me haha. It wasn’t easy getting rid of her, but the campus police certainly helped.

At first I wasn’t sure whether I did the right thing, and I’m still not 100% convinced to be honest. It feels a little bad to deride this young man of… well… everything? So for that reason I salvaged the artifact as best I could after it exchanged our souls. It’s definitely worse for wear, but maybe somebody would be able to put the thing back together to the point where it would be functional again? You know, just in case I would want to swap back.

…but I don’t think I want to swap back. Seriously, my current life is great! I really feel like I am Dave… like everything in my life had been leading up to this. Like I’m supposed to be Dave from the start! I’ve never gotten this much attention before in my life, and it’s just an overwhelmingly nice experience. I’ve been getting comments from his friends– MY friends, that something about has changed for the better! I’m simply a better Dave than SHE ever could’ve been. To me it feels like this swap is a net positive change on the world.

Not to mention my new girlfriend. Let me tell you, she loves this new Dave in her life. No longer is she being commanded by her boyfriend on what she can and cannot wear in public. I let her be herself, expecting nothing in return but love… and I think I love her too… I know it hasn’t been very long, but we just click on a level I’ve never experienced with another human before when I was still Susan.

The only thing is that SUSAN has been sending me daily messages. Nasty threats as well. Just the most awful communication you can imagine. She’s simply just having a horrendous time adjusting to the new situation it seems… But doesn’t that just show you how deserving she was of this? Finally getting to experience what it’s like to be less than perfect. She should view this as a valuable lesson moving forward. And me… I feel like I deserve this as well.

It’s just that the constant torment of messages has been making me wonder if I did the right thing here? Maybe I convinced myself too hastidly of the whole morality of things. Have I gone too far, or is this all fair play? I’d like to think it is… So just tell me, AITA?
