Tesla Wall Connector V3 vs Universal Wall Connector
My mom ended up getting a model Y in December and up til now we’ve just been using the mobile connector to charge it off 120v since she doesn’t drive too much. But starting in September she wants to go on more trips and plans to drive much more so we’re looking at getting the wall connector installed. There’s 2 options the Universal wall connector that can be used for any car and the regular V3. She plans to upgrade to a Rivian R2 when it comes out, and replace an older car with the Tesla so we will end up having both. While I won’t mind getting the more expensive universal connector, I wanted to know if I’ll be able to save that $230 and get the regular one. The question is will the regular V3 charger work on the R2? The R2 will have an NACS port so it would make sense that it will but I just want to confirm. Also our family friends have a Ioniq 5, will they be able to charge off the regular v3 (ofc with an adapter) when they come over?
I wasnt able to find anything about these questions online! Thanks in advance for your help!
