Please focus Shifting Earth events on Day 2 and ignore castle

I’ve played a lot of nightreign, probably have close to a hundred expeditions or more with various characters. So, I’ll get straight to the point: Clearing out a shifting Earth event and clearing out castle cost the same amount of time, in which, you can only choose one to do.

And with ED Caligo, the mountaintop bosses and associated power are increasingly important. There are a lot of runes to be had in a shifting earth event should you clear everything, just like the castle. But, it’s pretty much an all-day event. You have to dedicate to it.

I just got off a run with randoms where one guy was leading the team and he wanted to do castle THEN mountaintop. We went along with it, took out two trolls before he went down and promptly quit. Me and the remaining guy cleaned up the trolls and ran over to the mountains, clearing the bosses over there. But by the time we were going up to get the power behind the ice dragon, the rain had already blocked the path off.

So, again, the point of this post is to discuss whether it’s good to ignore the castle for shifting earth events or not.

I believe it is. The time investment, rune acquisition, and the circle closing in on a predetermined spot, all say so. Much less the power you get for completing the event.
