Why am I so bad at BF6?

I'm loving the game, but I'm getting destroyed playing Conquest! Simple as that! It's a bit demoralising!

Some games I get 1 or 2 kills and 20+ deaths. Most games I'll get 6-8 kills if I'm lucky. I had one game earlier where I managed to get double figures on kills, but deaths were pretty high too. I'm not running and gunning like on COD, but even with tactical sneaking, I'm getting blasted away, often before I even know anyone is there!

I used to be good at BF1 (quite often with 2.0 k/d in games) which is the last BF game I really played after playing BFV for a bit. I'd say it's probably about 4 years of no BF though for me. The last month or so I've been playing BF1 and getting owned in that too! On COD I'm okay with a k/d ratio on TDM of around 1.25, but I just can't seem to get to grips with BF now! Compared to COD the gun recoil seems much harder to counteract.

I've already altered all my settings to speed aiming up etc, but does anyone have any tips please?
