Grass Variety at Zilker's 'Great Lawn'?

Has anyone else been here long enough to remember that they bought all new grass for Zilker Park after the ACL "dust bowl"? From what I recall it was a special kind of grass that is drought resistant, trample resistant and feels nice to walk on. Did I dream this? If not, does anyone know the variety and if it's commercially available?

Also open to hearing your grass success stories. Personally, I have never been a big fan of planting grass in Austin due to the lack of rain, but my partner really misses it and has me convinced that if we can find a great low-maintenance variety we should try.
