Referrals
My current clinic and hospital are all looking for employee referrals, primarily for assistants/technicians.
I used to be more of an avid promoter to my contacts in the field, trying to not only help the clinics/hospitals I worked for, but my friends. I truly believe in paying it forward and would gladly stick my neck out on the line to insure that my friends are treated well. If I wouldn't work somewhere, why would I recommend them to work there?
Recently, I've come to this point where I've let go of the responsibility to do that footwork. I'm not going to sacrifice friends for the sake of my jobs. I mention it to them, I advocate for them (ie. What they're looking for in terms of hours, compensation etc.), but I don't feel any guilt, or responsibility to twist their arms just to get a worker through the door. If they're interested, they'll proceed in applying. They may very well have valid reasons for not moving forward with an application, and in some ways I wonder if I've arrived at a similar point.
I wouldn't necessarily say this is burn out, but maturing and seeing the big picture.
