Looking at purchasing this low mileage Lexus GS 350. While inspecting it, I noticed an issue with the back license plate area on the trunk (sorry, forgot to take a photo, so all I have is this picture of the front of the car!). 

Essentially, there was a small amount of surface rust where the license plate had rubbed off some paint near the mounting holes. I pulled it off to get a better look, and realized that one of the original bolts for the license plate had broken off. Instead of drilling out the old bolt, someone had (unevenly) drilled new holes in the trunk to mount a license plate bracket. 

I brought this up to the dealer, and they said they would have it repaired by a body shop before I purchased the car. 

Fast forward to today, and I received this update:

“They removed all of the paint and rust on the trunk.  Primed, sealed, and painted the trunk.  The two original holes from the factory can accept new bolts for a license plate.  The two "new holes" are still there there.  However, they have been sealed up with primer, paint, and clear coat, and then there were plugged up with a plastic plug.”

I had initially told them that I was hoping for holes to be patched. This area will be hidden by the rear license plate, so not very visible, but I’m wondering if you would have any concerns with this approach to the repair? 

Does this seem like an acceptable repair on this GS 350 I’m hoping to purchase?
