I am so done worrying about whether or not Hussie is a "good person."

Part of me hopes saying that statement will make it true, but idk. I just need to get it out. Fact is, I don't know Hussie. I have never interacted with them once, and I doubt I ever will. I have heard so many conflicting takes on who they are as a person that I'm starting to lose my mind. The most basic things I can understand about them based on their behavior surrounding Homestuck is this: they are protective of their work, bad at communication, and have no idea how to manage anything. Even then I'm probably overstepping. They've all but nuked their online presence and have never made any comment about any of this. I am inclined to believe the facts Gio presents (though I question many of the assumptions they make). I won't defend how Hussie has handled the IP but at the end of the day I don't know if the way someone handles their IP is indicative of their entire character. I know someone who works in IP law and jesus fuck every possible scenario of every possible case so endlessly complicated. Like, yeah, the way they've been handling this is extremely shitty and they shouldn't just be let off the hook for this but there's nuance to everything and we don't know everything and personally I really just need to stop caring.
