Premier League Football is Boring
I feel like when the premier league transitioned from the Barclays to what we have now and the rise of pep’s dominance and possession based styles football in the league is a shadow of what it used to be.
Games in the Barclays premier league tended to be fast paced , full of players taking risks, less emphasis on systems and more emphasis on individual talent, acquiring players because they were good players instead of parts of a machine that will fit in a cog.
In modern football , especially the premier league I tend to get very bored watching, and it’s not because of an attention span but due to the constant recycling of possession , lack of risks, defenders walking with the ball from their box to the halfway line to entice players and lack of individuality.
An example I would like to use is Manchester United Vs Manchester City at Old Trafford last season, I’m aware this rivalry is no where near as big as United Vs Pool but the lack of risk taking , lack of forwardness from the players was a stark contrast to the Manchester derbies we’d see under the likes of Alex Ferguson and Mancini for example.
